Rehabilitation Stories

Painted Turtle

This painted turtle was found in early November with fishing line entangled in his mouth. Willowbrook’s staff veterinarian was able to successfully remove the fish hook from the turtle’s stomach without any further damage.

The turtle is currently being treated with antibiotics to prevent any infection that may occur from the dirty hook. If all goes well, the turtle will be released near where he was found in the spring!

Please remember to throw out any and all of your trash. Not only from fishing, but from your house too! All garbage can be a potential danger to wildlife.
